REIKI A NON INVASIVE HEALING PRACTICE

Reiki practice is part of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM).

Reiki treatments promote overall health and well being. It is also used by those who are seeking relief from disease related symptoms and the side effects of conventional medical treatments. 

Reiki treatments have historically been practiced as a form of self care.

Increasingly it is also provided by health care professionals in a variety of clinical settings.

According to the 2007 National Health Interview Survey which included comprehensive survey of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) used by Americans, more than 1.2 million adults had uses alternative healing therapy, such as Reiki. The survey also found out that approximately 161,000 children had used an alternative healing therapy in the previous year.

Reiki treatments are used for relaxation, stress reduction and symptom relief, in efforts to improve overall health and well-being. Reiki practice have been used by people with anxiety, PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), chronic pain, HIV/AIDS, including those recovering from surgery or experiencing the side effects from chemotherapy in cancer treatments.
